"abide in me as I abide in you..." John 15:4
I had fun doing the staff lectio today. I'm trying to disengage my mind and re-engage my heart when we do this exercise together. It helped today.Peace,-t
God is so good! After staff meeting this morning I was trying to focus on trusting God to provide especially after talking to my insurance company....Ken had a meeting with Troy Wyckoff and took away some great encourage about not to worry about how things will work out but focusing on living your life and focusing on God. When I got home I checked the mail and my cousin who lives in NY sent us a check for $800!!! I called her right away for an explanation. She said she was doing yoga and she had this over-whelming feeling the she needed to send us her tax return money that she had just received in the mail! I think I finally UNDERSTAND.
I was driving up to Mission Adelante this morning and I asked God that if it was ok with Him, could I be released from my service there; just please make it clear. (Olga - the women I have made a deep relationship with - has not come this trimester and we could have had potentially 3-4 coversation partners and 1 student. I was hoping they really didn't need me.) Well, 3 students arrived (one of which was Olga!) and I feel like God was saying, "Be obedient. Quit worrying about your time (the bread!) and know that this is exactly where I want you on Tuesday mornings." So, I'm here to declare that I want to finish the summer there with the right attitude and heart. No more complaining and grumbling.Olga met Jesus last summer and today at the end of class she said that her faith was growing so much as she has seen God providing for their family while her husband has been without work. She said she is experiencing His peace! What an encouragement - He always blesses me through her - and Praise God I don't always get my way!
It's so great to hear your stories, Beth and Kristen! I'm reading the Jacob and Esau story now. Trying to slow down and enjoy and look for something new in this familiar story.
Love your stories of God's faithfulness Kristen & Beth! That's pretty incredible stuff.Today I prayed the hours from the BCP. I read about Melancthon who is the protestant saint for today - he was cool.Peace,-t
Hi ,I have been “doing” these “God Pause” daily devotionals that are really short and written by a bunch of Luther Seminary Alumni. Today’s was based in Matthew 10 "Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.” Maybe it is because I am about to be the new person everywhere I go, but the idea that Jesus wanted his followers to be hospitable receivers resonated.I get the Jesus words were probably not referring to a corporate relocation situation, but still…..
I have not been doing good with my devotional time this week. I skipped today completely. I hate that feeling.
hey alli am on vacation and have tried to stay unplugged...i am enjoying some much needed downtime and have spent several moments in thankful prayer.
I am continuing the Jacob and Esau story. Better day today!
Enjoyed staff lectio and prayer and worship night last night.
