Hey everyone,

I was on study leave last week and did a lot of praying and reading while I was away. I'm having to re-learn some study leave lessons. I learned last time not to go when I'm preaching that week - I end up just working on that as if I were at home. This time I learned to not go if I have to come back into town for something (class) in the middle of the week & that what I'm really looking for more than anything is solitude.

I did the BCP hours this morning and hope to be faithful throughout the day.

peace,

I've been doing well the past couple of days at praying the offices. It's difficult these days to pray the office during the evenings. At the very least I am trying to stop and pray the Lords Prayer and breath deeply a couple of times and remember that my life is a gift and that I am finite and limited as God's creature.

I did the BCP morning office today.

Since I've been back from the abbey I've been off on praying the hours during the day. My alarm rings at noon and I generally say the Lord's Prayer, but I've not preserved quiet time to pray and read some scripture.

I'm contemplating a change of some kind...not sure what. Maybe a different format or even a different place for my afternoon? I might start adjourning to a coffee shop or something... I'll keep you posted.

I did the BCP hours this morning. I'm struggling with some anxiety today about meeting with the guy from Heartland. Please pray for me to try see Christ in him when we meet together.

Other than simple waking and bedtime prayers - I haven't gotten into a rhythm since getting back from vacation. Both Taylor and I are sick which makes it hard. Add that to Fisher's birthday festivities this weekend - I'm basically planning on refocusing next week :)

Happy 40th, Tim!

I did the BCP hours this morning and then did Midday prayers as well. I'm going to spend my afternoon studying Revelation...

I've woken up a couple times this week with my mind already racing. I hate those mornings. The Jesus prayer is typically helpful when I am this way. But this week I would sing some of the Taize songs and that was really good at getting me out of my head.
