I did so-so on prayers over the weekend. I stuck to early morning prayers and the morning office. The last time I missed those two things was January 16th, which is good for me. I feel as though the rhythm of prayer is becoming more a part of who I am. The next step that seems to be developing is, surprisingly, Compline. I'm starting to do it more consistently which only goes to show that God takes us his own way and there's really nothing we can do about it!
I did 4 of 5 offices yesterday. This morning I did the early morning office and then the BCP prayer service when I came in to work. The gospel was the story of the woman caught in adultery, which is one of my favorite stories.
I did the early morning office when I awoke, and just now read the morning office from the BCP. The gospel today was the story of Jacob screwing Esau out of his inheritance. Esau must have been a hairy mug.
I did early morning prayers and then the BCP office just now. I've been really challenged in the last 24 hours by some of what I'm learning for sermon this week. Mostly in regard to commitment of the heart as opposed to legalism or rule following. I've got so far to go to become a truly Christ-like person.
What do you do when your computer is about to die??? .... Post on the staff blog! Priorities.
God has been opening my eyes to a lot of things about myself lately. Psalm 55:17 was apt for yesterday. "Evening and morning and at noon, I will complain and murmur, and He will hear my voice.
Complain and murmur. Jesus does, after all, say to have faith like a child.
Yesterday I was lame on prayers. I only did the early morning office. But today started off well. Did early morning prayers and just read the BCP morning office. John 8 "Before Abraham was, I am." Wow.
each week we will have a new post through which to interact. you can post comments as often as you want under each week in order to share what you are reading, disciplines you are engaging in, or encouragement to each other.

Prayer and Scripture reading has been sporadic for me the last few days. I am thankful that God abides despite my own non-diligence.
