Hey Friends,

Sorry I was late getting this posted. I've been doing "ok" on prayers this week. Lots of studying and reading. But I've at least gotten to three offices each day.

Hope everyone is enjoying the week...

Today's one of those days where I feel like praying comes natural. Yesterday was not one of those days. What do you make of that!? :) I was, however, comforted while reading Kathleen Norris who was talking about prayer as being like the ebb and flow of a tide. You have your good days and your have your bad days. I do hope, though, that's not always the case. I think she was saying that to describe the struggle we feel. So, I've been trying to stay close to the lectionary readings this week since it's the first week of Easter. I never noticed it before, but it has us reading Psalm 118 every day.

Felt like I started the day well. I tried to keep my thoughts from distracting me as I read Scripture and prayed this morning. Often times I find myself waking up and being flooded with thoughts that cloud or distract me from prayer and it's all I can do to just sit down and be still. Peace.

This is the first time I have ever had more posts than Tim on our blog! Booyah!

Anyways ... Kathleen Norris is really working me over. For some reason I am really resonating with what she is saying about acedia. I think that is why I have been trying to post more on the blog as well as keep up some other daily necessities.

Praying the hours is one of those daily things and so far this week I have done alright.

I'm going to try and stick with the lectionary texts during Easter. For some reason I feel like I need to stay close to the story in my daily readings. This week I have been reading Psalm 118 more or less every day, which is what the lectionary says to do. It's a pretty good Psalm to think about during Easter.

Peace, ya'll.
