both yesterday and today I did the early morning office and the Morning Office from the BCP. The reading today from Luke 10 was about Jesus sending his disciples out two by two. The message he told them to preach was, "The kingdom of God has come near." That's our message...
Thank you for all your encouragement today with dealing with my mom. I thought things went well (at least from my perspective). Tim did an awesome job helping me see how I can change my thinking patterns when it comes to things my mom does. She needs some major healing and I pray that she came to see that thru what transpired today.
But what I came to realize the most these last few weeks is that our God is so great and this community is so amazing. He saved my life (literally) and brought me back through all the family stuff that was destroying me. Then plopped me down in this community that is so amazing I can't even find the words to communicate what I mean. Without this church and these friends I can't imagine what my life would be like...let alone the life of Ken and my kids and to see what God is doing in Jen's life and I know there will be a time where my brother will come back to him. I just am sitting in awe of what this church is going to be able to do when we have a solid place to be the Kingdom of God.
I am enjoying reading from Revelation. This is where the lectionary is at right now. Love it.
Today has been better as of late in terms of joy. I haven't really been in a good spot for a few weeks. Today, though, even though the pace is as quick as ever, I have a sense of the Kingdom of God. Thank God.
