I did the BCP hours this morning. It was a realy good time. I especially liked the reading on Martin Luther.

I followed the readings on the Lent card from yesterday. I read bits from Gen., Psalm, Romans, and John. Then prayed for those who live in hunger and poverty.

Jesus visits Nicodemus- I was convicted by the part where Jesus says to Nic. "You are a respected teacher of Israel and you don't know these basics?" ....Instead of facing the evidence and accepting it you procrastinate with questions!" ...If I tell you things that are as plain as the hand in front of your face and you don't believe me, what use is there in telling you of things you can't see, the things of God?"

I spent most of yesterday reading Psalm 77 for my group last night. I found the honesty in the struggle of the psalmist comforting. One other thing that stood out to me was when he shifted from "I" to "you" the difference it made on his view.

Doing the lectionary....I'm signing off until next Monday. Blessings to all of you, I'll be praying for each of this week.

I read in my devotional book last night in Gensis and John. In Gensis God told Abraham to sacrifice Issace to him...Abraham's faith is amazing.

had a great prayer of examen time again last night. God is really challenging me to listen to him right now.

today i was locked out of my office (not the main door, the door to my office) and wasn't able to get in until around 8:30, and promptly started my message prep, so i didn't get anytime today. i'm planning on doing prayer of examen tonight before i go to bed.

kids woke us up pretty early this morning, and instead of crawling back into bed i got up and read matt 18, focused on the story of the shepherd who goes out into the hills to look for the lost sheep. prayed for friends far from God for awhile. also did prayer of examen last night, i'm really enjoying that.

Hey Friends!

I did the hours on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday I prayed the hours w/the monks up at the abbey. I love hearing them chant. It was good to get away even if it was only for about 24 hours.

Friday I fasted and had a great day - not much grumpiness.

Today - not so good. Grumpy, didn't do the hours...slacker.

Looking forward to church tomorrow.

peace,
