Yesterday I did lectio with the staff which was a really good discussion.

This morning I prayed the morning office from the book of common prayer. The reading from 1 John was especially good. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to keep the hours today.

Peace,

-tim

I've started this "100 Essentials" which will take me through the bible. So, today I started with Genesis 1-2:25. I'm going to try hard to stick with it and not to skip if I think I've read something a lot before.

Hey guys...can you pray for Parker. He has been having a monster asthma attack for two days now. He saw the doctor today. It is really rough watching him not be able to breathe. He has about seven different medicines in him and still is having trouble. Last night he cried in my arms and was really mad at God. He kept asking me why God would let him have asthma. You know, I know all the adult answers to give him. They really sound cheap when you say them to a little kid. I just kept telling him that it was all right to be mad at God, to go to Him and yell at him and just kept reassuring Parker that God loves and cares for him. It was a hard conversation between wheezing and tears. I feel like I failed it, again because my adult answers seemed wrong to me. So, I needed to write this to get it out, it's cathartic. I also just need prayers that tomorrow, Parker can breathe easy again. He just finally got to sleep, we were one breathing treatment away from the ER. Thanks.

yesterday i engaged with the divine hours book in the afternoon. it was a really rich time for me, right before everyone came over for our community group.

today i am taking a day of solitude, which i am really looking forward to.

kerrie, i will be praying for parker. i hope he is breathing better today already.

I did the book of Common Prayer morning office. I was pretty engaged with the scripture readings. We're reading through Ezekiel right now and it is really good. I'm hopeful that I'll make the 2pm and 4 pm prayers today.

peace,

Hey Everyone, I look forward to engaging w/ you all in this. Thanks for having me...

I continually read through the N.T. in the mornings - occassionally going back to go through the O.T. - along w/ my time of prayer. I'm in 1 Cor. now. This morning in chpt. 10 I was especially convicted about how my choices affect others. Particularly v.24, "Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others." I am realizing the magnitude of individual responsibility while living in community...but by God's grace!

We had an amazing time of prayer this afternoon as we wrapped up another year of Moms In Touch. It was an hour of thanksgiving as we looked back and remembered what God has done in and around our families and school over the year. God faithfully meets us here and it has become a beautiful respite during a crazy week. I'll miss it this summer.

Today I continued reading in Genesis concentrating on the fall.
Thanks for the prayers, Parkers doing better, still coughing a lot but at least it is under control. Today is his last day to take 7 drugs, I can't wait for that to be done.

Welcome Beth! I think you class up the blog a little bit:)!

I did the BCP hours this morning. The reading from 1 John was about abiding and it was good. I'm loving staying with the lectionary.

Peace,

Ha ha ha!

It's so good to start the day connected to Him! Today I'm in 1 Cor. 12-14. I love 12:18 "In fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be." If that's not encouragement to fulfill our calling w/in our community - with purpose and confidence!

yesterday i had a really great time in the morning reading John 1, reflecting on the idea that IN HIS IS LIFE...so true.

this morning i read ex. 3, the story of Moses and the burning bush. Sam was bugging me the whole time, so it felt a little bit chaotic, but still good.

Friday Confessions:

I confess i lose my patience way to much with sam and ben.

i also am selfish with my time, i still have yet to truly have a servant attitude at all times around the house.

i am afraid and scared of some of the things GOd is challenging me to do right now.

I've been working on 1Peter 5 for our study. Love really digging in to one scripture.
