I started this morning with the BCP hours just before class. It was a bit hurried, but I'm praying the Jesus Prayer during the class which is a good way to listen.

peace,

I need to get back on track tonight. I have been praying certain verses for each of my kids today.

Hi guys,
Praying most of the hours, usually morning and vespers for sure.

I’ve been reading along in John. And it occurs to me that an important part of the story that John is telling is that light and life itself came to them and they missed it. Ch. 1 v10-11 “He was in the world and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” Just made me wonder about the times that the spirit of God was moving and I missed it ….doesn’t Jesus say that “my father is always at work”?? So that has probably happened more than I care to know. So my prayer is “please don’t let me miss it” I hope I am listening and watching for those times, because I want to take part in what God is doing. Again I am reminded that its not about God doing her thing, but about me having the ears to hear and eyes to see.

Over the last week I have prayed the Lord's prayer, either repetitively in one sitting or by saying it one time but very slowly and contemplatively. Them are some good words.

I too have been drawn to the Lord's prayer the last two weeks. They are good words. The thing for me is Jesus said...when you don't know what to pray, pray this. So I wonder why I sometimes go to Him with, I'm not sure what to say, duh! Also, I've been enjoying praying the bible verses for my kids this week on a higher level.
