I was lousy at praying the hours this weekend. But, I'm jumping back in this morning. I did the divine hours with the lectionary readings. Hope you are all motivated to pray today!

Well, early morning tennis is over! Amazing what God puts up with from me. Was in 2 Chronicles & Luke 13 this morning. There is a verse in 2 Chron.12 that always gets me...v. 14 referring to King Rehoboam (Solomon's son!)... "He did evil because he had not set his heart on seeking the Lord." This is so true of me. Timely.

I have been doing pretty well on prayers this week. I did 3/4 offices yesterday and started this morning with the BCP morning office.

The Lectionary reading today in the NT was from Acts. It was continued from yesterday, when Peter was on his roof top for daily fixed hour prayers - the three o'clock office. He was on his roof top and in another town Cornelius was observing the same hours - praying at 3 o'clock. Peter received a vision about welcoming Gentiles and Corneius (a Gentile) was given a vision saying that his prayers for acceptance had been heard.

Two things...First, I long to have the people I'm close to pray the same hours I do - even if just for solidarity as much as spirituality. Second, how cool is that story? Unbelievable that they are both experiencing this vision at the same time in different towns.
