I did early morning prayers this morning and then the BCP morning office just now. As the daily lectionary readings from Revelation draw to a close I'm sort of filled with wonder that these readings came up each day at the exact same time as I'm taking a class on Revelation. So I was reading these things devotionally each day as well as academically. I guess I could call it simply a coincidence. But I think maybe it is more than that!!

I've been making my way through Deuteronomy in the OT. And trying to pray the Psalms every day. In Deuteronomy, Moses is rehearsing the Israel's history in preparation for their entering the promised land. I am thankful for the Scriptures, the community that gave them to us, and this community I am a part of now that help me read them.

I did the early morning prayer when I got up and didthe morning office just now. I'm beginning to get some momentum on my new prayer schedule. It feels good to be ordering my days around prayer again.

I did my daily readings. Psalm 101 was a good word for me today.

I did my daily readings. I am doing pretty well right in reading large sections of the bible, but not in fixed hour prayer. Thankfully, my phone goes off four times a day, reminding me that I should stop and pray. That is doing something to me, for sure.
