I did my early morning prayers and the BCP today. But, I have really struggled with daily disciplines the past week. I anticipate a struggle this week as well. I know the reason is just because I'm down to the end of the semester and every waking hour I can spare is spent studying either for school or for preaching. Wow, that is such a lame excuse!!
I've been making my way through Joshua. Just finished this morning. Psalm 37:1-6 was the even Psalm for yesterday, and was good for me to read.
Verse 3 and 4 say, "Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart."
I did my daily readings and finished a book that I had been dragging my feet through. I'm starting in on the book of Judges now. I am continually amazed at the way God speaks through the Scripture. It is indispensable for the people of God.
I did early morning prayers when I got up and just did the BCP morning office. I'm having to work at readings and prayer right now, not sure why, but I know that these disciplines are shaping me and that it is worth forcing myself to do them even when I don't really feel like it.
each week we will have a new post through which to interact. you can post comments as often as you want under each week in order to share what you are reading, disciplines you are engaging in, or encouragement to each other.

Hey Friends,
I did early morning prayers when I got up and just did the BCP morning office. I'm having to work at readings and prayer right now, not sure why, but I know that these disciplines are shaping me and that it is worth forcing myself to do them even when I don't really feel like it.
Peace,
