I did early morning prayers this morning and the BCP today. I've started back in using Phyllis Tickle's "Divine Hours" prayer book for midday & vespers. I'm hopeful that this will help me to be a little more consistent.

I've been reminded of how important the church calendar can be in the time between Advent and Easter. It helps us to tell the whole story of Jesus' life and teaching with diligence. I hope we can do justice to this in the midst of what we've planned for the spring.

I have been way off my habit since we have been in California. Hopefully someday I'll figure this out. But my mind has been on the Epiphany. I think this might be the first year that I actually feel how Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany are supposed to flow in the Church year.

Scott - that's awesome. I'm feeling it as well. Today I did matins and lauds as planned. I'm hopeful that I'll observe all of the offices today.

I'm loving the snow - it makes some people grumpy I know - it makes me feel like reading for some reason. Good thing I'm on sermon prep this week!

Peace,
