I did the early morning office when I woke up today, and just completed the BCP morning office. I'm really enjoying the recorded office at mission st. claire.
Hi, ya'll. Just checking in. I'm about to start class right now. I've been really challenged in thinking about what is the church and what's it for. I hope these classes open up some of my thinking and help me make better sense of who we are as God's people. Lately all I can say is that I've been trying to pray. I'm not really sure how successful I have been :) Seems to be a dry season for me right now.
I did the early morning office today when I woke up. I did the BCP morning office just now. I'm still enjoying the recorded prayers. I listen to them and read along with the liturgy. It's almost like being there!
I did the early morning office when I awoke, then the BCP office just now. Every wed. I'm playing in chapel at Nick's school (I'm playing bass, which is funny). I love Wednesday mornings because they are bathed in prayer, scripture, and interactions with family and friends.
Hey! I just had the most awesome experience with my kids tonight. I have written the blessing for this series from the book we got of CM on a notecard and pinned it above my kids heads so after we do our 3 things for the night I bless them. They have made such a habit of it that before I can get the words out they say, "Do the child of God thing." Well tonight Taven started the blessing on his own, which was awesome but even greater, after I blessed Skylee she said, "Mom, I want to bless you." So she crossed my forehead (which I guess that is what CB does in class) and then she blessed me with the same blessing that she has now memorized.
So, Tracy, I know this has been a rough time in CM but you need to know what an amazing impact you and your team are having on our kids and I am forever grateful.

My weekly routines have definitely been thrown off by nit-picking :( On a positive note - I have been able to bond over lice issues with a gal who I've been in a difficult CM relationship with. God is funny that way.
My discipline for the week was to engage in Lectio Divina. It started out great in that I felt I was being given by God the meditative scriptures...so amazingly applicable and revealing. I'm back at it today. It's really a discipline that appeals to my "five"ness.
Kristen- It's so nice to hear how your kid's are responding to the blessing- so glad your family is embracing it!
I'm thankful for what I read in the Scriptures today. These are good words to us. I feel like I have been struggling a bit lately, which is actually kind of hard for me to say :) Would love to feel your prayers! While I struggle, though, I am encouraged and joyful of what God is doing to and through you all. Peace!
Both Friday and Saturday I made my early morning prayers and the morning office from the BCP. Those habits are becoming really tracked in me again. I'm not doing well with afternoon and evening prayer. But I'm not going to sweat it too much...
