Started the story of Joshua. I did a more intense bible study of Joshua this past spring, so it is nice to just read the text and already have some points of reference and remember why I love it so much.
I've had a slow actual reading week, but a great relational conversational week with my family. It's been cool to connect in Christ as a family. I know I need to get on the reading also, but I'm loving this and thinking that God is okay with it too.
I confess to having skipped confession the past few weeks. I think this was a benign skipping because mostly I forgot. Although, it seems obvious that the omission says something about the importance I place on the role of confession…yikes.
I confess to all sorts of sins from talking too much to thinking terrible thoughts. I confess that I’m somewhat ambivalent about how sinful I am – which probably means I’m terribly so.
I confess to often screwing up priorities and serving myself above those I love.
I confess to being a helpless consumer. First, I bought a new golf club and now really want a new backpack (my bag is on its last leg and I’ve had it for 8 years…that’s how I’m rationalizing it, can you tell?) and I’ve got my heart set on a new really nice, although expensive one. I tried to resist but the fight is all but over – I’m hoping to get it tonight.
I confess that having a church job is a really great job. It has its down spots but I have to say that I don’t appreciate it enough, it’s really fun.
each week we will have a new post through which to interact. you can post comments as often as you want under each week in order to share what you are reading, disciplines you are engaging in, or encouragement to each other.

Did staff lectio today with you guys...I love that discipline. I also did the BCP hours this morning.
Peace,

Enjoyed staff lectio and some great discussion I've been having with my kids about God.

I did the BCP daily office yesterday and today. I'm really into the creed right now. Also trying to meditate on the Lord's prayer.
