I did matins when I awoke this morning & the Morning Office when I got to the office. I've been thinking about faith for the last few weeks, wondering what I can say about it this week. The reading for today was from Hebrews 11 - "faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Pretty cool.

I'm still doing my daily readings from the Celtic Daily Prayer book. Mornings are my most consistent times. Today I read about Brigid of Kildare (Feb. 1st is Brigid's Day) - a patron saint of Ireland. Traditionally people pray a blessing on their home every Brigid's day with special blessings for each room of the home. I'm going to do this with the kids and have them make a Brigid cross to hang on their doors...good stuff!

Enjoyed reading and studying Jonah again this morning for CBS.

Chaim, I can't stop thinking about things you said yesterday. Great perspective. Thanks.

I did matins & lauds this morning. I did all 5 offices yesterday. It seemed like the day went according to a rhythm of prayer and mercies from God.

God has really been working on me lately. I am thankful, sometimes reluctantly, of course, but then I suppose that is all apart of the journey. I am in the Scriptures and I am participating with the church in God's feast at communion each week ... there's nothing more I could ask for or be thankful for.

I did early morning prayers when I woke up this morning. I did the morning office from the BCP just now. Yesterday I got to 3/5 offices, but still felt as though my day was spent prayerfully.

Peace,

I did early morning prayers when I got up this mornng & the Morning Office from the BCP just now. Yesterday was a good prayer day for me. I did all 5 offices, which seems to be pretty rare, sadly. I have noticed that the more I pray the hours throughout the day, the more aware I become of my own faults and selfishness. I can see the games I play with myself and others more clearly. It makes for a pretty intense internal struggle sometimes.

peace,

I did early morning prayer when I got up and the BCP morning office just now. Yesterday was a bad prayer day - only did 1 office... still a novice.
